..or so it seems!  the robins are here for sure and to stay.  Lots of exciting news for me and my art is taking place.  I attended the Hants County Arts Council Show at the Bread Gallery in Brooklyn, NS  this month and met some lovely folks.  The art that was displayed was varied, interesting and lovely…so much talent in this area!  i met the lovely Tasha, President/Chair of the HCAC and got some information about the organization.  I have joined their membership and look forward to meeting more artists in the community and surrounding areas.  There are lots of events planned for this year and I am so looking forward to hearing about them and joining up.

The Great Little Art show in Newport Landing is staking place April 27-29th.  If I can create enough pieces for this show (and the next in amherst), I will take part in it.

May 4,5,6, 2012 will be exciting for me as I will be participating in the Home & Cottage Show in Amherst, NS…this weekend event will be held at the Amherst Stadium.  I will have my art booth right across from Main Stage and I will be doing a portrait starting on Friday and completing it by Sunday…come out and enjoy this wonderful show!  It promises to be a great venue to jump start everyone into summer!

So, I’m busy painting and getting pieces of art ready for this show…and I best stop blogging and get to work.  Happy spring everyone!

March is here and so is the ‘Suette”….we’re having a SouthEaster as well….lots of wind and rain our way today.  Oh well, it’s bringing us closer to spring.  Heading for a quick trip to Cheticamp tomorrow with my sis….haven’t been down in years.  John and I are planning a longer visit this August.

On the Art side of things, I have been invited to attend a meeting/art display of the local Art Council in Brooklyn…looking forward to meeting other artists and finding out what is going on in the art world in West/East Hants.  More on that next week after the event.  Until next time….

Still winter in South Rawdon but sunny…have to do some barn chores shortly and look after my Diva “Jay”…then get in my Art studio – I have finally got things in place there and am ready to start creating.  I have lots to do in preparation for the Amherst Home show in May – I am so looking forward to that!  I will have my booth just across the main stage and will actually be painting for those three days!  I am also hoping to exhibit some of my art work in the local area this year!  That’s it for now….off  to the barn now..

It’s been a few months sine I wrote my first EVER blog on my website.  I’ve changed my address and contact information and will be uploading ore of my art works in the next few months.  I’m finally moved back to Nova Scotia with my husband, John; and we are enjoying our hobby farm…as in horse farm.  My art studio has finally come together with the addition of two work benches that John made for me and my art work nook which is ready for me to start creating.  I will be at a Home/Country show in Amherst May 4-6 – if you are in the area, please drop in and see my latest piece of art…should be a lot of fun!  Talk to you soon!

Tonight I’m learning how to blog!  My website will have a new face.  As the weeks go by, I’m hoping to be good at this and update on a regular basis.  Oh by the way, John & I are movin to our new home in Nova Scotia, our little horse farm called Rawdon Ridge Run, i.e. Triple R.  So, stay tuned and more info to come after I set up my new art studio and settle the horses.  Aurevoir!
