"Dear Sandra ~~ Thank you so very much for the wonderful portrait of my 3 (now deceased) purebred Arabians. Baraffus (centre) and Bateke (the bay) were half brother and sister, while the 3rd, Manor Hill Daphne, was related distantly through bloodlines.horse - all three were very different - yet they were very similar in many ways. I just look at the picture in our living room and many good memories come flooding back. After I rode Imp (my AQHA gelding) for the first time, I said that he was the QH version of Bateke ~ compact, not tall, and FUN! They are so very life-like - they appear to be ready to gallop across the field, once the gate opens.

Interestingly enough, these wonderful portraits came from photos taken by a fairly inept protographer - me.

I just wanted to let you know just how much this portrait means to me. Amber as you know never ran a race or even spent much time in the show ring for that matter. She was just my best friend and I sometimes wondered who owned who. When I thought of having a portrait done of Amber, looked at work from many local artist's but when I stopped by your booth at Can Am in 2007 I was captured by the way you breath life into your subject and make them live in the pastels and chalks. I am so very much enjoying showing it off. The first response to it is always " Oh My God it looks so much like her you could almost touch her " I've even had people tell me it gives them goose bumps. The sparkle is there in her eye, and that soft look about her face truly is her. So I want to thank you again. I'm putting together a disc of both Harley and Legacy and hope to add a few more recent pictures once they shed out. That way you will have them there to start whenever your ready.
